When I...
was a little girl my mother painted silhouettes on glass. She created many lovely pieces and I never forgot them. Recently, at almost 70 years old, I decided to be the artist I had always aspired to but somehow just never got around to it. I started doing watercolors and arylics and finally silhouettes.

While traveling in the United States, Canada and Alaska, the wilderness so inspired me to do animal silhouettes with acrylic backgrounds. I began painting the silhouettes on glass and creating background scenery with acrylics. These lovely paintings gave me the idea for making “silhouette cards”. I used my original paintings to print cards. Then silhouettes are cut and applied by hand to make an unusual card suitable for framing. I have produced several different variations of the original card and you can see some of them here.

I hope you enjoy my cards and other works of art as much as I do creating them.
